The Association of Indian Organisations comprises of several diverse organisations sharing a the common principle of Unity in Diversity by raising awareness and funding for worthy causes.

Our Aims and Objectives

  • To promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of communities of people of Indian origin in Scotland in particular, but not exclusively.

  • To promote the advancement of education among people of Indian origin.

  • To work for the relief of sickness, suffering and distress.

  • To relieve poverty among people of Indian origin either living in Scotland or elsewhere.

  • To co-ordinate the activities of Indian Organisations in Scotland in order to help realise their full potential for the benefit and welfare of the communities of people of Indian origins in Scotland.

  • To promote equality of opportunity and good relations among persons of different racial groups.

Public Consultation

Mahatma Gandhi Statue at Kelvingrove Park

Please find below an invitation to a public consultation on installing a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow. The event is open to all with a special invitation to our interfaith friends across Scotland. Numbers are limited and in order to secure your space please email the organiser, Mridula Chakraborty directly, as this event is being hosted by the Association of Indian Organisations in Scotland.

The upcoming Public Consultation at Interfaith Scotland for the Installation of Mahatma Gandhi’s Bust at Kelvingrove Park is an important community initiative led by the Association of Indian Organisations, Scotland. The Association has been carrying out public consultations across Glasgow to engage citizens, share the vision behind the project, and invite feedback from the wider community. This initiative is supported by Gandhi Ashram HSS, India, an institution founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1932, carrying forward his values of peace, education, service, and social harmony. The event will begin with a keynote welcome by Dr. Mridula Chakraborty, Secretary, AIO Scotland, followed by a special talk by Aakarsh Tyagi, Director Foreign Affairs, Gandhi Ashram HSS, on “Statue of Gandhi: Bridging Peace and People.” A presentation on the proposed bust will then be shared, followed by pamphlet distribution, public questions, and community discussion.

Consular Camp 2022 in Om Hindu Mandir (Glasgow)

The Consulate General of India  is organising a Glasgow consular camp in Om Hindu Mandir on 23rd April 2022 (10am til 4pm). The address is 1 La Belle Pl, Glasgow G3 7HL. Consular Camp 29th Aug 2021

Arranged by Consulate General of India (Scotland)

Consulate General of India (Scotland) organised a weekend Consular Camp in Glasgow on 29.8.21 (Sunday) to render Passports, OCI, Surrender & Consular Attestation Services. Photos below of High Commission and Consulate working in Guru Nanak Sikh Temple, Glasgow. Walk-ins were also welcomed.
